Ballard’s Manufacturing Engineering Team has a position available for a Manufacturing Engineer in our Burnaby facility. The successful candidate should have a track record of seeing through small scope projects and developing and implementing new processes. Experience in process design and continuous improvement projects using tools and methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, QFD, FMEA, DOE, SPC, and Error Proofing is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, implement, and troubleshoot new and existing manufacturing processes.
Identify and justify projects to improve manufacturing capability, yields, productivity, and capacity.
Manage drawings, shop floor work instructions/build sheets, process flows, plant layouts, material handling and quality control systems.
Design, specify and commission tools, jigs, fixtures, and tests.
Keep process and quality documentation up to date.
Requirements:
Must have an engineering degree or technical diploma and experience from a related field
1-3 years directly related experience in a hands-on manufacturing environment
Knowledge of thermodynamics, electrochemistry and fluid mechanics is an asset.
Experience using APQP elements – PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plan,
Experience in automotive industry and familiarity with quality system requirements such as PPAP, SPC, GR&R preferred.
Hands on experience, working and troubleshooting electromechanical systems is a plus.
