The role will spend time supporting two areas of the HR Function:
Support the Senior HRBP, PMO and Strategic Projects to own the HR PMO agenda and push forward the HR Teams strategic priorities
Work with the Enabling Functions HRBP team to deliver their people priorities, including having ownership of supporting specific EF functions and on delivering the cyclical HR agenda and projects.
This role is suited to an ambitious individual, looking to grow into bigger HR roles quickly.
What you’ll be doing
As a Assistant HR Business Partner, you will have the following accountabilities:
EF:
Partner with a couple of key areas within EF to ensure they have the correct level of HR support to push forward their people agendas
Support our HRBP team to own cyclical activity and coordinate submissions (for example learning and development, pay review, talent and graduates and apprentices). This includes representing the team on meetings, sharing key information, ensuring all activities are carried out by required deadlines and to a high standard, and contributing ideas for continual improvement.
Interface with our centres of expertise and HRSS as appropriate to ensure a high standard of HR service to the business.
Support and guideline managers on effective use of the HR Operating Model and support them in resolving non-standard queries that have a material impact on the business including escalating issues and overseeing their resolution in a timely manner
Ownership of ad hoc HR Projects and activities, liaising with representatives from other enabling functions, and across the Group, wider HR team as required – such as EF induction
PMO:
Be responsible for reporting on the BBUK HR Plan, preparing data and insights to enable the Senior HRBP to know if we are working to plan and if not, what the escalations and barriers are
Appropriately challenge programme leads from the HR Plan to ensure they are setting their projects up for success
Drive collaboration and connection between projects and projects leads to ensure we are delivering the HR plan in a consistent and joined up way
Be involved in the development of the 2023 HR Plan and how we keep improving how we run projects as an HR Function
Own the continuous improvement of the HR activity schedule, quarterly look ahead and activity aimed at ensuring that our HR Team is a great place to be part of
Project manage the delivery of the Fixing Frustrations ensuring that we are making progress and providing useful updates
Opportunity to get involved in delivering specific projects of strategic importance from the HR Plan, for example onboarding
Great opportunity to have visibility of how the whole HR Team operate and get experience from a COE lens
Assist with the development and implementation of internal HR communication channels
Who we’re looking for
The following qualities/experience are essential:
A flexible approach to work with the ability to adapt to change
A team focus with the ability to communicate and build strong relationships with a wide variety of people at all levels
A driven, self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work on your own initiative and influence decision making
Confident in the use of Office software including PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Ideally previous work experience in HR within any industry or experience in a construction/engineering environment
A full, clean UK driving licence
