We are expanding our team and looking for a Sales Leader to improve our sales process, support growth, and profitability of the core business. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role, with the goal being to better meet the needs of our customers by influencing and mentoring sales representatives.
Is this role for you?
We are looking for a Sales and Marketing Manager to hire, train, mentor, and motivate a sales team while simultaneously growing your own book of business. The ideal sales manager brings in-depth knowledge and experience of the construction space as well as leadership skills to keep our revenue engine running through the year. You have prior experience in the Construction Industry, have strong negotiating skills, and a record of success who can inspire the same in others. This role demands a leader who is sharp and humble, is a great coach and mentor, and knows what it takes to maintain a high performing team. Customer service and relationship building are your superpowers. You will determine how much you earn by how well you motivate and develop your team to sell and service customers.
Responsibilities:
· Create and execute a strategic sales plan that expands Baker’s customer base and extends the current sales relationships.
· Provide strategic guidance and coaching support to drive expansion and optimization of the sales organization.
· Identify and evaluate emerging opportunities for business growth.
· Recruit, train, mentor, and manage the Sales team staff.
· Advise and collaborate with the leadership team on Marketing initiatives necessary to meet sales projections.
· Track, analyze, and adjust (as needed) sales metrics based on key quantitative metrics and initiatives.
· Oversee the activities and performance of the sales team, ensuring quotas and standards are met.
· Maintain sales goals, monitor job profitability, analyze P&L (bid to completion) maintaining a minimum of 30% margin.
· Attend training from vendors on products, installation, etc.
Qualifications and Requirements:
· 5- 10 + years previous sales experience, at least 5 years in a sales management position and related industry experience. (Construction, general contracting, mechanical, electrical, plumbing sales.
· Proven track record of success building/ managing a team to support a successful sales cycle from inception to close.
· Expertise training and motivating a sales team to achieve company goals.
· Proven experience independently executing a sales plan, achieving, or exceeding planned sales objectives and quotas.
· Proven success in pipeline development, an expert negotiator, a strong ability to persuade, and an ability to influence decision makers.
· Strong analytical and reasoning abilities. Demonstrated creative problem-solving faculties.
· Past experience developing territory and/or field-based sales strategies and tactical plans.
· Experience with CRM Systems.
· Manages the marketing budget to support targeted campaigns and collateral to drive revenue and meet company objectives. Tracks analytics and adjusts as needed.
· Develops and implements innovative marketing strategies to continue to grow market share and communicate with clients (email, social, blog, etc.).
· Create and manage company hosted social events and ongoing associations to support networking, communication and growth. Luncheons, Dinners, Happy Hours, Golfing, etc.
· Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

· You are customer service minded and managing/ mentoring is one of your superpowers.
· Reliable and has sound judgement and discretion.
· Strong interpersonal skills and relationship builder both internally and externally.
· Positive attitude is a must; a good sense of humor is good too. 🙂
