Position Summary

This position is accountable for providing project support, work planning, schedule maintenance, project supervision, and an overall field coordination. This position assists with field activities through the on-site personnel. Typically, this individual will work closely with the Superintendent, Project Manager, Foreman, Project (Field) Engineer, Safety Representative, Pile Drivers, Welders, Carpenters, Helpers, Laborers and other skilled or semi-skilled craft workers on the work site.

• Education: Preference given for a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar degree
• Must have good interpersonal skills, desire to learn, ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing, proficient with computer applications as required to perform responsibilities
• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and utilize Construction Math concepts used in design and survey
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Position Description

• The Field Engineer provides support to the Project Engineer and the Project Superintendent
• The Field Engineer position will be assigned to the field operations team and will assist in obtaining, evaluating, and coordinating all information needed to construct the project in accordance with the contract documents and to assure that the work meets all safety standards, is within schedule requirements, and is constructed to the highest level of quality possible

• Perform line and grade work for construction layout and control as required
• The support goals include production tracking, operational planning, communicating, organizing, implementing, and tracking project data
• Assist in the maintenance of contract documents and electronic web-based documents for field operations
• Assist in the preparation of Daily Project s
• Review all work as it is being placed to be sure it is accurate within accepted tolerances
• Review contract drawings, specifications and shop drawings to ensure proper coordination and installation
• Assist in the preparation of project as-builts

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
