Bailie Group Business Services provide Compliance, IT, Finance & People Services to the Bailie Group operating companies. Whilst Bailie Group Business Services are primarily based at the company’s offices in Leeds there are several roles which are based at other sites within the Group.

Candidate Profile

This is a key role, ensuring that accurate and timely financial information is provided to inform quality decision making by Senior Management and the Directors. This is a varied and hands-on role within a dynamic and agile commercial environment.​​​​​​​

You will have strong financial skills and be confident with numbers. To fully support the business, you will be required to develop a detailed understanding of all areas of the business.

Role and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for creating, and/or verifying and reviewing, accurate and timely financial information within the organisation. This will be performed in order to meet relevant ethical, professional and legal standards.

Key skill requirements:

• Drive to learn financial processes including budgeting, forecasting and financial audits.
• Ability to produce quality and accurate information in a timely manner when reporting revenue, cost of sales, and fixed assets, as well as the wider monthly balance sheet.
• Ability to create and interpret information and show how that information can be used most effectively to add value to the organisation.
• Understanding of transactions arising from the purchase and sale of products and services.
• Understanding of all areas of the business and their customer and supplier needs
• Effectively communicate relevant information across the organisation and to appropriate stakeholders in both written and verbal formats.
• Proactive management of your own development.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and respond to changing priorities.
• Effectively plan and prioritise time and work with others to meet deadlines.
• Ability to learn and apply relevant professional standards and regulations, both legal and ethical.
• Sufficient understanding of the IT systems, financial systems and processes of the organisation.​​​​​​​

Qualifications and Experience​​​​​​​

• A minimum of 5 GCSE or equivalent qualifications including maths and English – level 4 (C) or above
• Previous accounting or financial qualifications – advantageous
• Good understanding able to use MS Office or equivalent packages
• Excellent team player with initiative to be self-reliant
• Customer service experience – advantageous
• Coaching skills – advantageous
