Would you like to be a part of an Information Management and Technology Team? We currently have a vacancy for an IM&T Practitioner – Application Support at our site in Barrow – In – Furness.

As an IM&T Practitioner, you will be working with large scale enterprise applications on a programme of national strategic importance.

Your main responsibilities as an IM&T Practitioner – Application Support will involve:

• Application installation, configuration and management;
• Workflow design and build;
• Query and report design;
• Deployment and management of configuration items according to release tracks;
• Providing effective knowledge transfer to other team members and 3rd parties as required;
• Working with the Service Team, End Users and 3rd parties as required to investigate, identify and resolve system problems;
• Provide technical documentation in the form of ‘run books’;
• Work with key Business and Project stakeholders to define and understand changes / improvements.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential

• Experience of toolset administration, configuration and implementation of changes to large-scale Enterprise Applications;
• Experience providing expert knowledge and support in the testing and deployment of changes and improvements to large-scale Enterprise Applications;
• Experience of Configuration Management tools and processes to control software version releases;
• Windows Server administration;

Desirable:

• Educated to HNC or Degree level or equivalent, ideally in Software Engineering or IT Engineering Principles
• An understanding of PLM capabilities, configuration, integration and interfaces
• Project management knowledge
• Stakeholder management experience
• Some use of Teamcenter

• Proven experience supporting software implementation and upgrades
• Experience of Information Systems and Server/Client infrastructure
• Experience of managing, configuring and supporting an application throughout its lifecycle
• Excellent communication skills
• A proactive and self-motivated individual that will actively engage with users and work with minimal supervision
• Resilient and confident decision making.

Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.
