What does an HR Business Partner do?
The UK OC (Operations Centre) is responsible for the production and supply of Bacardi’s Scotch Whisky and Gin, including DEWAR’S®, ABFERFELDY® and BOMBAY SAPPHIRE®.
The HRBP role is a key role in supporting the UK OC’s people initiatives including employee engagement, sourcing talent, succession planning and talent management, employee relations, values and culture, union relationships, organizational review and design, performance management, HR systems, and compensation and benefits.
  • Partners with management to develop and deploy HR programmes covering the key global HR pillars
  • Acts as a first point of contact for all HR related matters
  • Supports employees in all aspects of human resources to ensure a strong sense of family and care
  • Ensures high quality application of HR services, policies, and programmes.
  • Contributes to strategy development through the provision of HR solutions that demonstrate added value
This role would be responsible for business partnering with a variety of functions, including Gin Distilling, Whisky & Gin Visitors Centres, Packaging Development & Activity Management, IT, HR, Procurement, Archives, and Marketing, covering 100 Primos across 3 sites.

Please note this assignment is a 1-year contract role. The role can be based in either Glasgow or Laverstoke. Please note, in order to stay connected with our customers, local travel is requires to various sites in the UK (10% of the time).

Responsibilities

With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be:

Business Partnering
  • Act as HR business partner for assigned teams. Provide coaching and counselling in the areas of policy interpretation and review, staffing, compensation & benefits, conflict resolution, performance management, engagement, recruitment, onboarding, talent development and succession planning.
  • Provide HR Support for employee relations issues e.g. performance management, attendance & timekeeping, discipline & grievance
  • Work and liaise with Union and Union representatives

Organizational Capability
  • Support design and ensure implementation of organizational changes aligned with talent strategy.
  • Drive Building Capabilities programmes in line with global and local people strategy and plans

Talent Development and Acquisition
  • Support implementation of Global talent strategy, including diversity initiatives (Belonging @ Bacardi)
  • Help build succession pipeline for critical roles
  • Support line managers in creation and implementation of development plans for identified population (e.g. top and rising talent).
  • Coach and educate managers on the talent development methodology and development resources available
  • Facilitate training sessions and career development workshops
  • Recruit and integrate high quality candidates according to business needs, lead-time and recruitment cost targets.

People Practices and Systems
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures in terms of conduct, mobility, compensation & benefits, internal & external recruitment, onboarding, development, training, etc. Effectively partner with global and local SME’s.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations to reduce risks and ensure regulatory compliance. Partner with legal counsel as needed/required.
  • Maintain HR systems (WorkDay), ensure data is kept up to date and correct and provide relevant analysis and reports as required. Partner with BES (Bacardi Excellence Services) to execute system changes.

Employee Engagement
  • Monitor employee engagement level, support implementation of action plans to drive engagement.

Skills and Experience

The Skills & Experience needed to create your legacy
  • 3+ Years of Human Resource Experience required
  • Proven experience in building engagement in teams, driving change, and coaching / counselling leaders
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment
  • Excellent Oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization and follow up skills; Must be able to multi-task and be detail oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, instruct, and consult with others
  • Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems
  • Knowledge of compensation and benefits legislations, principles, policies and practices.
  • Knowledge of Employment Law
  • Strong analytical mindset; Able to draw conclusions from reports and action plan based on data
  • Effective and resourceful candidate sourcing for various levels of positions.
  • Ability to work within a highly confidential environment with professionalism

The following experiences are preferred:
  • Experience in the Spirits and/or FMCG industry is a distinct advantage
  • Experience working with unionized or operational environments
  • Bachelor Degree in Business or equivalent
