Overall Department Direction
Opportunity has arisen in the Estates Project Department for a Project Manager. The vacancy is at Devonport and offered on a permanent, full time basis.
The Estates Project Department is responsible for delivering extensive and diverse infrastructure upgrades and improvements across the entire Devonport Site and often beyond. A significant, recent commitment to invest in site improvement necessitates expansion of the existing core team to accommodate delivery.

Main Purpose of Role

This role is to manage a suit of projects across the Devonport site for all aspects of the infrastructure upgrades currently occurring on site. This includes updating programmes and financially managing each project at all stages of its process.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competences
* Significant experience within a project management function and the delivery of infrastructure projects. Can demonstrate a high level of organisation with the ability to self manage and produce information and output reports with little guidance.
* Has a good knowledge of APM philosophy and is an advance user of Microsoft Office suit software.
* The individual has good communication skills and the ability to deal with senior management and both Babcock and Mod senior stakeholders

Qualifications
HNC in an engineering subject or an appropriate APM qualification. This may however be formally wavered for a period depending on the level of experience in role and specific capability.

Grade
This position is within the Base Services business unit as a Grade 6 which has a salary of £45,089.00 with DRDL Terms and Conditions.

This role is based at Devonport Royal Dockyard which is located in the vibrant city of Plymouth, Devon in the south west of England. Business Area – Devonport
Babcock International Group owns and operates the main refit, maintenance and workshop area of the 330 acre naval site at Devonport, known as Devonport Royal Dockyard, where it employs thousands of people. The remainder of the site at Devonport is owned by the Ministry of Defence and is known as Her Majesty’s Naval Base (HMNB) Devonport – one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe.

Babcock and the Ministry of Defence work in partnership to operate and maintain this co-located site by providing through-life support for submarines, surface ships and associated systems and equipment.
