1️⃣ Develop, optimize, and maintain machine learning models, focusing on Large Language Models (LLMs) and Computer Vision (CV) techniques.

2️⃣ Work collaboratively with a diverse team of ICT professionals, DSTG researchers, Defence Operators, and Analysts.

3️⃣ Design, implement and test ML algorithms.

4️⃣ Conduct experiments and demonstrate ML-based technologies to stakeholders.

5️⃣ Execute training and retraining of systems for optimal performance.

Working Details

📆 Start Date: 01 November 2023

⏳ Contract Duration: Initial 8 months, with potential for two 12-month extensions

📍 Location: SA, VIC

⚙️ Working Arrangements: Flexible, by negotiation

🔒 Security Clearance: NV-1 required, NV-2 strongly preferred

🎯 Transform data science prototypes and design ML systems.

💾 Extend DSTG’s internal ML libraries and frameworks.

Key Skills and Experience Required

💻 Software development & machine learning experience.

🐧 Proficiency in multi-GPU platforms and Linux.

🗨️ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

🏹 Resilience to challenging work and deadlines.

Desirable Skills

🔄 MLOps and ModelOps practices.

⚙️ Experience with Agile, DevOps, and Configuration-As-Code methodologies.

📊 Advanced understanding of data structures, modeling, and relevant mathematical concepts.

💻 Proficiency in Python, Java, or R.

📘 Familiarity with ML frameworks like Keras or PyTorch.

🛡️ Previous experience within the Defence environment is a plus.
