Axiom Machinery Hiring for Mechanical Automation Technologist at Cambridge, ON Full Time

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position involves designing, building, installing, testing and debugging a wide variety of machines, electrical devices and control systems. We require an exceptionally talented, skilled and organized individual to handle the various aspects designing complete control systems. You will be working with various electrical design and programming software to develop and implement custom solutions based on customer requirements. Some of the work will be electrical design, some programming, a little hydraulic and a little mechanical and some will be component sourcing and purchasing. You will be actively participating in all phases of the project including design, programming, design, installation, start-up support, training and future customer support.

DUTIES:

• Read and understand engineering drawings and component specifications in order to recognize parts and part specifications for assembly.

• Plan out mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical assemblies.

• Design component assembles and complete machines.

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems

• Perform basic tests on installed components to ensure they meet the appropriate standards.

• Assemble, fit and install prefabricated & purchased parts to form sub-assemblies or finished products per mechanical assembly drawings.

• Assemble hydraulic systems including hoses, fittings, and valves per schematic drawings/ specification.

• Work with company project managers to determine purchasing requirements for ongoing projects

• Place purchase orders and monitor them with vendors to maintain on-time delivery

• Order stock, non-stock materials and services systematically to avoid material shortages

• Input and maintain a visual database of all purchased parts/products on company website(s)

• Maintain need minimum part/component inventory levels to ensure production does not stop

• Dispense inventory of parts/components on “project carts” to shop floor production personnel

• Work closely with production personnel to ensure they have what they need to complete all projects

• Work with current suppliers while sourcing and cultivating relationships with new ones

• Participate in workplace improvement initiatives.

• Previous experience needed in machinery building, repair and/or assembly.

EXPERIENCE:

• 2+ years’ experience mechanical automation technology

• 2+ years’ experience CAD and SoildWorks design

Salary:

$ 50,000. to $ 60,000. per year

$ 24.00 to $ 29.00 per hour
