Where does the Quality Manager fit in?
The Quality Manager is responsible for coordinating and administering the company quality management system in relationship with designated customers and registration requirements. They are required to work with all departments, develop and maintain effective systems to achieve quality objectives, in addition to identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
What can you expect as our next Quality Manager?
Responsible for the organization, co-ordination and direction of all quality related activities in accordance with customer requirements and the company Quality Excellence Program
Responsible for improved methods to move current quality objectives to the next level of performance
Facilitates and coordinates the Monthly Management MOS meetings
Accountable and ownership of Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP) with quality and operational efficiency as the cornerstone
Responsible for the effective management of all quality department personnel, including task delegation, performance evaluations and disciplinary action
Responsible for the management, development and documentation of all aspects of the company’s Quality Management System which conforms to IATF 16949 and all other Customer specific requirements.
Oversee the product manufacturing process to ensure quality by supervising development of PFMEA and RPN reduction plans through mistake proofing critical failure modes
Review products, processes, and systems on an ongoing basis to determine where improvements can be made.
Champion external and internal audits based on IATF 16949, determine required corrective actions and follow up on open audit reports
Supervise the activities of all Quality Engineers, Quality Technicians, Quality Inspectors, Receiving Inspection and Supplier Quality Assurance
Implement training for Quality excellence for all company employees as required
Review the Non-conformance Reports and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions
Improve the reliability of new product development processes and ensure the APQP process is followed
Work closely with all Internal Departments, Suppliers and all Customers’ assembly plants toward problem prevention and resolution.
Responsible for the evaluation of statistical techniques and gather process relevant crucial data and develop techniques to reduce drift and control various processes.
Assist the development and maintenance of advanced quality plans such as cost of quality programs to improve and reduce the cost of poor quality
Ability to work with senior management team and implement their vision
Mentor and coach the quality department to bring all resources to the level of knowledge required to effectively support the APQP and plant performance requirements
Are you our next Quality Manager?
Completion of university degree in Engineering or in related field
ASQ Quality Engineer certification or equivalent is preferred
Minimum of 5 years’ experience within quality and manufacturing departments in automotive industry
3+ years people management experience
Experience within the plastics industry is a huge asset!
IATF 16949, AIAG Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP), Strong GD & T knowledge
Strong knowledge of statistical process control and statistical methods
Must have excellent working knowledge of all Customer’s Quality requirements and IATF 16949
Strong communication skills, be able to communicate effectively with customers face to face as well as through other means to ensure customer satisfaction while addressing the needs of the company.
Strong computer skills
Experience in the Automotive Industry required
Must have excellent negotiating skills
Verbal and negotiating skills, patience, and the ability to think clearly and control emotions under adverse conditions are of paramount importance.
