Where does the Mold Designer fit in?

The Mold Designer will be responsible for designing molds from concept to completion. The designer, with the help of design software, will design single, multi-cavity, and fully automatic injection molds and tools.

The Mold Designer will participate in mold design activities from start to finish. Interacting with internal and external stakeholders. The Mold Designer will play a key role in meeting customer expectations for quality and on-time delivery.

What can you expect as our next Mold Designer

Design experience includes the following capabilities:
Design injection mold from concept to complete detail design

Perform DFM (Design for Manufacture) and provide design change proposals

3D mold design – hot runner / cold runner / multiple cavity / undercuts / prototype

Fixture design – assembly fixtures / quality inspection fixtures

Managing BOM, ordering material and components

Necessary detail drawings

Designs mold as per company quality, reliability, maintainability and durability requirements

Preserves all documentation as required. Including mold design / part design / engineering changes and document control procedures.

Documents and identifies customer requirements and specifications

Maintains workload, multi-task and manage conflicting priorities

Communicates actively with team to help flawless tool delivery

Other duties as assigned

Are you our next Mold Designer ?

3-5 years of experience in injection mold design

Hands-on experience and knowledge of using NX Design software

Degree in Engineering or equivalent & related education/experience

Hands-on mold design experience in the Automotive Industry is an asset!

Shop floor & CNC experience desired, but not must

Strong written and oral communication skills

Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented

Proficient with engineering specifications and drawing comprehension. GD&T and customer performance specifications should be well understood.
