Where does the Cost Analyst fit in?
The Cost Analyst (this can be YOU!) will be responsible for maintaining the costing and commercial issues associated with the Bill of Materials (BOM) accurate and up-to-date. Ensure the accuracy of BOM information in Axiom’s MRP system. Manages commercial changes such as LTA, supply chain changes and ensures accuracy of the ERP system. Updates and ensures accuracy for any or all commercial and process changes.
What can you expect as our next Cost Analyst?
Maintain the costing and commercial issues associated with the Bill of Materials (BOM) accurate and up-to-date
Analyze the margin of each part and examine the financial health of the parts, programs, program managers, division
Monitor costs throughout all phases, from quote to launch and production- facilitating meetings to discuss deviations and solutions
Responsible for monitoring all cost inputs
First point of contact for any Engineering Change Requests (ECR) to monitor costs and applicable financial impacts/changes
Prepare the reports for profitability and cash flow from part sales
Validate the commercial responsibility to evaluate the originally quoted costs vs the actual costs to initiate resolution for any identified discrepancies and areas of improvement
Maintain the accurate and up-to-date BOM information such as raw materials (resin), subcomponents, packaging configuration, and process changes including press size, mold cavity, cycle time, and labour requirement in Axiom’s ERP system
Manage commercial changes such as LTA, supply chain changes on MRP system
Manage engineering changes and the impact on the routed BOM
Ensure the setup on the ERP such as customers, purchase orders, shipping locations, packaging configurations to support the production and shipping functions
Be part of the new ERP system implementation team for improvements to Axiom’s business processes
Support and assist Accounting/Finance team as required
Additional Requirements:
Assist with capacity management for all divisions globally
Assist with managing tooling life span and refurbishment system
Identify, manage and prepare documents for commercial resolution in all areas of tooling life
Identify areas or improvement for business scalability and adherence to planned growth
Look for standardization, efficiency, commonization of materials, resin and packaging
Create a system and methodologies to track costs variations from quotes vs actual including all inputs including maintenance, tool repairs, labour etc.
Do you have what it takes to be our next Cost Analyst?
Post-secondary education in Finance/Accounting or related field
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience within the manufacturing industry
Proficient with Excel- Intermediate to advanced skills (formulas, pivot tables and graphs)
Impeccable oral and written communication & presentation skills, with the ability to interface with senior management
Good accounting, financial and cost understanding
Strong relationship building skills (internal & external stakeholders)
Ability to think & execute strategically and is results oriented
Self-motivated individual with a strong attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi task as required
Problem identification and resolution skills (champions resolutions)
Understanding of supply chain cost evaluation
Understanding of APQP process is an asset!
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy of work with an ability to handle confidential information
Keeping other team members updated on the status of the work and any potential issues or questions.
Strong verbal and communication skills; must be fluent in English (written and oral)
Planning and organizational skills
Solid understanding of information systems
