AWC STAFF SERVICES LTD Looking for Temporary Works Design Engineer at Leeds, West Yorkshire Full Time

We are working with a civil engineering contractor that is engaged on a number of AMP7 frameworks throughout the North of England and Wales. Our role is to source a Temporary Works Design Engineer to join the Northern Engineering Design Team to work from offices in Yorkshire.

You will be working with a highly experienced clean and waster team on contracts that cover clients for Yorkshire Water, United Utilities, Northumbria Water and Welsh Water.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinating a fully integrated Temporary Works (TW) design ready for construction to meet project requirements under the supervision of the Design Manager.
• Supporting the supply chain Temporary Works Designers in developing designs for temporary works. Development of preliminary scheme designs and full detailed design,
• Covering temporary works designs on a range of temporary works both above and below ground.
• Ensure design risks are identified and managed in the CDM Design Risk Register from the definition phase of a project.
• Ensure the design meets Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality minimum requirements.
• Have previous experience of the design process of BS5975 with the TW Design Brief, Works Information and Technical Standards and following the MWS corporate procedure.
• Ensure Technical Queries relating to the design brief are raised in a timely manner and seek early resolution to avoid impact on the design or construction programme.
• Liaise closely with the Temporary Works Coordinators and Temporary Works Supervisors.

Who we’re looking for     

• TW design experience working on non-complex and complex infrastructure projects covering clean water and wastewater.
• Working knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations from a principal contractor, principal Designer and Designer perspective.
• Civil Engineering qualification or equivalent work
• Has a construction utility company or consultant background (ideally with buildability experience).
