About the role within the Avidbots Software QA Team
This role will be in the software QA team at Avidbots. The QA team’s goal is to ensure that each software release ships with the highest quality code that will work to our customer’s complete satisfaction. We have set the bar high and expect to meet or exceed it with every release. You will work closely with our software development teams in a fast paced Agile environment, working on the cutting edge of robotics, testing everything from path planning and sensor data algorithms to safety systems and performance. Due to the nature of the product this is a predominantly manual testing role. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, has a strong work ethic and great attention to detail.

Key Accountabilities:
Perform hands-on functional, system, performance, stress and regression testing on our different robot models.
Work closely with our software development teams, thoroughly testing new features and bug fixes.
Troubleshoot software and hardware issues.
Write detailed bug reports, collecting all information and details necessary to aid in the speedy resolution of problems.
Design and develop well written test cases.
Be a creative thinker; testing a product that moves around has a unique set of challenges.
Required Skills and Experience:
BEng/BSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field.
0-2 years of experience in a manual testing software QA role.
Strong Linux knowledge (CLI, scripting).
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with peers and superiors, and a strong teamwork ethic.
Awesome attitude, self-driven and self-motivated; you get things done with a passion for continuously raising the quality bar.
Nice to have:
Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS).
Previous work with Jenkins, Jira, Git and Bitbucket.
Working knowledge of Python, JavaScript, Selenium and Cypress.
