As an inclusive, forward thinking business, we take pride in our approach to Finance across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Finance Graduate to be part of a high-performance team. You will be a key part of our Finance Team, based at our site in Brackley (Northamptonshire), however there is a need to be flexible in location over your programme.

Purpose of the role

As a Finance Graduate you will be joining our Finance function and working as part of Shared Services Financial Accounts team, this role will gain exposure across various aspects of Financial Accounting across the group.
You will develop your skills and raise your strategic awareness, with the aim of becoming a key member of the Financial Accounting team.

Key responsibilities of the role:
Working within a fast paced and diverse environment, this role will be varied and at times challenging, and you will interact with multiple business functions and key stakeholders, both internally and externally.

Your key activities and responsibilities will include:

• Prepare & post accruals & prepayments journals as part of the Finance Month-End process
• Prepare & complete Balance Sheet reconciliations, ensuring all balances held are accurate and any anomalies robustly investigated
• Support the wider Shared Services team on the transition into the new ERP system (Oracle) – in designing, implementing and rolling out the new process from existing files
• Preparation of year-end schedules for the Auditors
• Maintain and improve financial controls & processes

What we are looking for:
We are looking for a driven and ambitious Finance graduate to join our team. To be successful you will:

• Have achieved a 2:2 degree (or higher) in a Finance / Economics / Accounting / Business / Maths (or related subject)
• Have an inquisitive and forward-thinking mindset, who is always looking to learn and develop
• Highly numerate, with strong analytical and excel skills
• Be commercially aware, with a passion for finance
• The ability to communicate confidently and effectively across all levels of the business
• Be confident in building effective working relationships and working as part of a team.
• Be able to pick up and deliver a variety of work, with the ability to work unsupervised
• Have a flexible approach and responsible attitude to work and driving development
• Ideally have experience working in a finance related role in a year in industry or work experience based position
