The Run Plant Engineer works independently under close supervision and is responsible for all phases of small-scale assigned process improvement projects in order to ensure the successful conclusion of all phases within an appropriate time and at an appropriate cost. The Engineer also assists in feasibility studies to implementing process improvement. They will also create necessary documentation and aides in communication to personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with manufacturing team to provide technical guidance on process, equipment operating procedures, and manufacturing procedures
Troubleshoot issues with the process and help to resolve the issues or escalate as needed
Investigate non-conforming batches using root cause analysis and provide corrective and preventive actions
Work with process engineers to setup manufacturing area and testing equipment for new process technology transfer
Provide guidance on safety to the work area including: resolving safety concerns, managing process change, leading pre-startup safety reviews, and following safe work practices
Learn the process and help improve manufacturing procedures and train employees
Assist with pilot batches and improvements to the process
QUALIFICATIONS:
BS Degree in chemical engineering or related field preferred
1-3 years related experience; Chemical process experience desired
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and experience interpreting P&IDs preferred
Knowledge of process safety
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong communication and problem solving skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Perform duties with the highest regard for safety and quality
Ability to understand and follow site protocols, policies and procedures
Must be flexible, forward- thinking, motivated, and have the ability to act independently
