Principal Investment Analyst
Automated Capital Management is an Austin, TX based hedge fund that uses data science, quantitative models, and fundamental analysis to drive its systematic trading platform. Our mission is to produce consistent investment returns with minimal risk through a data driven, value focused, automated derivatives trading strategy.

We are looking for a Principal Investment Analyst to help revolutionize our trading platform in 2021.

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and tuning our automated derivatives trading platform. This includes creating financial models, analyzing investment data, and developing and tuning new trading algorithms. Your contributions will directly impact the bottom line and you will have creative latitude to experiment with new ideas and projects. This is a remote contract position with flexible hours.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and tune various automated stock and option derivatives trading systems
• Analyze trading information and market metrics that affect portfolio valuation and performance
• Perform highly advanced fundamental and quantitative investment research and analysis
• Assist in the development of interactive tools for querying, displaying, and automating analysis of financial data
• Design data structures, automate data feeds, monitor data quality, and reconcile multiple data sources.
• Improve and develop new quantitative models to analyze investment data
• Assist in on-going research of best practices in predictive analytics and investment modeling, including new investment monitoring systems
• Actively research and identify areas for improvement around the operations, trading and reporting process

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in quantitative discipline (Econometrics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or other quantitative discipline)
• At least 3-5 yrs experience working as an investment analyst, financial analyst, data scientist, or related role
• Strong grasp of reading financial statements and public company SEC filings
• Competent with SQL and relational database concepts
• Experience using Python and pandas to perform data analysis
• Strong verbal / written communication skills
