Auto Europe has been a leader in worldwide car rental services for over half a century. Our corporate offices are based in Portland, Maine and we have additional call centers in Munich, Sydney and Lisbon, where we collectively provide support in many languages to customers worldwide. Due to the pace and complexity of our growing business, we are looking for a VP of Finance to join our team.
JOB SUMMARY
The VP finance role takes a leadership position in treasury, reporting, financialplanning, financial analysis, and insurance. Duties require effective collaboration and teamwork with colleagues and external partners in the US and internationally as well as exceptional analytical skills, systems, and communications skills.
Key Job Responsibilities
Treasury management – Cash Management, debt, foreign exchange, CREDIT CARD PROCESSING
1. Provide oversight of daily cash management process and perform certain daily cash management activities.
2. Analyze bank fees and other treasury costs and make recommendations.
3. Monitor foreign currency exchange rates and bank currency pricing.
4. Monitor and report on key aspects of payment processing (e.g., merchant card processing) relationships, including fees and decline rates, and make recommendations to senior management.
5. Make recommendations for investment of excess cash in accordance with sound treasury management practices and corporate policy.
6. Monitor compliance with debt covenants.
Routine reporting and analysis
1. Perform month end consolidation in coordination with the Controller.
2. Consult with P&L owners to review and analyze monthly results to understand the cause of variances and prepare related ad-hoc reporting as needed.
3. Prepare and distribute the standard monthly reporting package
4. Prepare routine bank reporting, including quarterly MD&A.
5. Reporting as may be required from time to time for the board or equity investor groups.
6. Analyze and benchmark operating and financial performance relative to competitors.
7. Create and publish key performance reports.
Supplier and affiliate Receivables
1. Monitor and report on receivable balances, including rebates due from suppliers, chargebacks to suppliers, VAT receivable from European governments, and amounts due from affiliates.
2. Follow up as needed to ensure receivables are liquidated timely.
Financial planning and forecasting
1. Support the annual global budget process.
2. Prepare budget package for presentation to management, Board of Directors, investors, and banks.
3. Support re-forecast of the annual outlook, as required from time to time.
4. Other financial forecasting as may be required from time to time.
Insurance & Risk Management
1. Lead annual insurance renewal process by completing applications and preparing analyses to support insurance coverage levels.
2. Manage and perform routine tasks including requests for certificates of insurance and routine audits.
3. Assess whether risks are adequately considered and addressed by insurance coverages on an ongoing basis and make recommendations.

1. Provide support to management in connection with any M&A activity (financial assessments, due diligence, integration management).
2. Provide support for transfer pricing calculations and segment reporting.
3. Other ad hoc analysis as may be requested and assigned.
4. Staff management responsibilities as may be required from time to time. This role may or may not have direct reports given the needs of the company.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience
1. Degree in finance-related discipline.
2. 10+ years of experience in a finance analytical function.
3. The following experiences are preferred: A) multi-site enterprise; B) large-scale computer systems (AEG uses SAP ERP and related reporting products), C) global trading where foreign currency is a significant influence on income and financial position.
