Authority Media is Looking For Audio Product Tester and Reviewer at Vancouver, BC Full Time

We are seeking a full-time Assistant Product Tester and Reviewer to join the SoundGuys team at our downtown Vancouver location.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work as part of our audio testing team to produce thorough, accurate measurement results
• Understand and test new products, following the existing test bench procedure
• Create and maintain test procedure documentation
• Help develop designs, test plans, and tools to verify product performance
• Investigate and troubleshoot issues with the performance of products
• Compare test results to verify quality and identify issues or errors
• Create, structure, and publish articles and reviews for SoundGuys
• Coordinate with Senior Editor on publishing schedule
• Other duties as assigned

Qualification/Experience Requirements

• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to demonstrate good knowledge of the functions and key characteristics of audio products (headphones, loudspeakers, soundbars, microphones etc.). Show familiarity with their associated performance metrics
• Critical listening skills
• Background in audio (music technology, sound recording, music production, audio DIY)

Nice to have skills:

• Experience with acoustic test measurement techniques and equipment, e.g., REW
• Experience with one or more DAW, e.g., Adobe Audition
• Experience with Dolby ATMOS or other spatial audio technologies
• Experience with psychoacoustics, room acoustics, or the subjective evaluation of audio/acoustic products
• Technical background in QA testing, or Technician with a DEP/DEC in electronics, computer science, or computer support
• Ability to play at least one musical instrument proficiently
• Experience and or can be comfortable on camera
