Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) is one of the world’s largest conservation organisations, delivering and influencing effective conservation across more than 12.9 million hectares in iconic regions such as the Kimberley, Cape York, Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre and the Top End.
AWC’s mission is the effective conservation of all native animal species and the habitats in which they live. With a focus on practical land management, informed by world-class science, AWC is implementing a dynamic new model for conservation.
The AWC Operations team delivers on ground land management activities at our network of 30 sanctuaries and partnership sites across Australia. The focus of these activities is on conservation outcomes that protects habitat for Australia’s native animals. We regularly seek Land Management specialists to deliver a range of land management programs centred around fire management, feral animal control and weed management. Members of our Operations team will have experience in these activities, as well as asset management and maintenance and be comfortable working in a remote locations in Australia.
AWC has regular vacancies in its Operations team and this advert is an open candidate pool for Land Management opportunities that may arise. This could include permanent, fixed-term or casual employment for the following Operations positions;
About you:
To be successful in these roles you will have practical hands-on skills, experience in some or all of fire management, feral animal, weed control, site infrastructure maintenance and a love for physical outdoor work. Management positions focus on managing small teams delivering the programs and require skills in developing and implementing the work programs and the respective budgeting and team leaderships skills required.
