Your opportunity

The primary objective of this role is to provide support for the processing of exit payments for Australian Unity’s Retirement Village residents and to administer the trust account for all retirement village reservations. The role will also support onsite staff at our retirement villages and aged care facilities on finance operational matters. The role reports directly to the Senior Finance Business Partner for Residential Communities and collaborates with the platform’s Legal, Sales and Commercial divisions as well as the Financial Control Team within the Finance and Strategy platform. The role will require the ability to work autonomously whilst being a team player; have a high level of computer literacy, communication, time management and organisational skills to be successful.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Prepare village resident exit payments in conformity with relevant legislation and internal policies within required timeframes
• Maintain the integrity of the Real Estate Trust Account by ensuring processing of transactions in conformity with the relevant State Real Estate Act
• Prepare and issue relevant customer payment summaries
• Completion of the turnover template documentation to assist the Financial Control team prepare the required turnover journal
• Provide appropriate commercial supporting documentation to the Financial Control team to enable timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations and journaling of transactions
• Completion of relevant commercial reporting packs and dashboards as required; and
• Assist the wider Commercial Finance Team in ad hoc duties

About you

Your expertise and qualifications will include:

• Completion or near completion of an accounting related degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant finance experience

• Intention to study CPA / CA program
• Strong communication skills and the ability to cultivate productive and effective relationships
• Drive to achieve results within time constraints and conflicting priorities
• Ability to work methodically and with attention to detail
• Ability to monitor and revise work plans as required
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
