The Role
The Mission Date Division continues to grow and is always looking for talented people to join its mission. The following are examples of the work you could apply your expertise to:

• Software engineering in languages including Go, Rust, Python, Java/Kotlin, C++, web application frameworks, object-oriented analysis and design, rapid prototyping, algorithm development, user interface development, user experience design, open source plugin/module development and more.
• Contribute to the design, development, testing, implementation, documentation, support, security, maintenance or enhancement of ASD’s communication and processing systems.
• Provide Automated Configuration Management activities using Puppet, Salt, Ansible, Terraform, Azure DevOps, Kubernetes and/or container management
• Build Continuous Integration and Deployment pipelines with a focus on security, maintainability, reliability and performance using a variety of tooling including GitLab CI/CD, OpenShift, Knative, Helm, Prometheus, Jaeger, etc.
• Cloud/container infrastructure design for high-availability enterprise information applications, including continuous deployment from Git managed code in OpenStack, AWS, Azure and bare metal environments. Working knowledge of Containers/Kubernetes deployments.
• Manage and ensure system integrity, performance tuning and monitoring across kubernetes clusters and related workloads such as Elastic/Open Search, Harbor, Keycloak, Prometheus, AWX, Argo and Grafana.
• Develop automation to enforce source driven configuration management activities using Ansible, Argo and Helm.
• Managing and using big data platforms including Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Spark, Accumulo, HBase, DataWave and NiFi.
• Providing support for security operations functions and database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, MariaDB as well as a range NoSQL based technologies.
• Delving into business data to find ways we can build effectiveness and efficiency into our processes.
• Solve issues for unpredictable problems and establish operating policies, procedures and documentation.
• Work across cross domain solutions to provide long term planning tools for the Australian military.
