Position overview
The Australian National University is seeking an experienced, student centred professional, for the role of Student Leadership and Development Officer, with a passion for engaging with students and experience in delivering high impact programs to students to facilitate their personal, professional and academic development.
Reporting to the Deputy Manager, Student Development, Engagement and Success, this role will act as a subject matter expert on student leadership development programming and best practice to facilitate both domestic and international students’ personal development, enrich their student experience, success and employability.
Responsible for providing high quality, high impact programs, events and activities to support student leadership skill building, personal and professional development across the University, the Student Leadership and Development Officer will build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, play an integral role in the implementation of high impact programs in line with University wide strategic objectives within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Student and University Experience (DVCSUE) portfolio.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional, with in-depth knowledge of student leadership development programming and best practices in a higher education context or similar, demonstrated experience in designing and delivering high impact programs to students from diverse backgrounds, alongside experience in providing training and supervision to student casuals, leaders and volunteers or similar.
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of student development programs, with capacity to utilise data to conceptualise, develop, implement and review programs and processes to deliver successful high impact programs and outcomes for students, preferably in a higher education environment. Superior interpersonal and communication skills and a proven ability to effectively supervise, mentor and train student casuals, leaders and volunteers is necessary.
