Salary package: $101,604 – $108,648 per annum plus 17% superannuation

Position overview

The National Computational Infrastructure (NCI) is seeking skilled and experienced Software Engineers to play a major role in software design, testing, development and deployment and management processes to support the diverse and complex needs of research communities at NCI, facilitating effective interaction with NCI’s peak HPC and HPD infrastructure. This position reports to the Team Lead, HPC Software and Data Modernisation .

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with extensive experience in the design, development, testing, and optimisation of software, to ensure secure and robust operations. To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated extensive experience in scientific programming including, debugging, optimising and introducing new algorithms, profiling utilities, version control utilities, and desirably knowledge of, and experience with, newer or evolving HPC programming paradigms and self-describing data formats. You will have high-level oral and written communication skills, and the capacity to engage and communicate effectively with peers and end-users of the service.
