Job Description
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Division manages Services Australia’s budget of $5.3 billion and administered payments of about $200 billion on behalf of partner agencies, to ensure all Australians, no matter where they live, can quickly and easily access streamlined government services and support.
The CFO Division has an ambitious reform agenda to modernise and automate the finance function. We are looking for people who thrive on a challenge and have strong leadership and management skills to join us. Applicants should be energetic, critical thinkers with a demonstrated ability to undertake independent assessments and provide recommendations regarding budget and financial matters.
The CFO Division provides financial advice, contestability, control and assurance to the Agency based on the following principles:
Assistant Directors work under the direction of Directors to deliver quality outcomes, requiring a level of analytical capability, judgement and understanding of the impacts to achieving CFO Division outcomes. The Assistant Director is required to support and seek opportunities to innovate, change workplace practices and organise work in the context of competing priorities and strategic direction.
Assistant Directors within the CFO Division are required to lead and manage teams to ensure high quality delivery and improvement of a range of financial and procurement activities, and financial system and process improvements. They are required to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Roles are available across all aspects of the finance domain, including government budgeting, accounting and policy, and require a good knowledge of the Commonwealth Financial Framework and/or Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
