The Role
Defence Mobility is looking for a high performing, experienced ICT Software Engineer to be a part of their small but dynamic team. This is a skilled and diverse team dedicated to the delivery and support of Defence’s ICT mobility capability.


Some of the key duties of this role comprise:

• Undertake coding, testing, reviewing, and documenting of moderately complex mobile applications using supplied specifications, standards and tools.
• Manage the release of Defence public mobile applications by packaging, signing and submitting to the Apple and Google application stores.
• Perform mobile application vetting including preparing security assessment reports, seeking relevant approvals and implementing the respective deployment on various mobility systems.
• Perform testing of mobility system updates, new mobile operating systems, new mobile devices, preparing assessment reports, seeking relevant approvals and deploying on various mobility systems.
• Research, collate and recommend options for a solution to issues or capability improvements to achieve desired outcomes.

About our Team
The Defence Mobility Team is a multi-disciplinary team within the Chief Information Officer Group responsible for the planning, delivery and operations of mobility capability within Defence. The multi-disciplinary team is responsible for mobile phones, tablets, laptops, mobile applications, remote access solutions and mobile communication services across the various security classifications.

The Mobility Program, within Defence Mobility, is responsible for the delivery of Defence’s mobility capability from the Official/Official-Sensitive up to the Protected classification. The mobility systems comprises of Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) including Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM).

This enables Defence personnel access ‘on the go’ to emails, calendar, documents and Defence approved Business and Personal applications on Defence managed mobile devices. Furthermore, the Mobility Program also provides capability to ADF for ongoing operations/exercises.

Our Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role you will:

• Have experience in implementing and supporting mobile device management systems
• Have experience in supporting and configuring mobile operating systems, for example Apple iOS
• Have experience in implementing and supporting ICT capabilities in the Cloud, for example Azure
• Have experience with delivering or supporting mobile applications
• Be capable of working with a wide variety of customers and stakeholders, including national authorities
• Be able to work in a fluid environment by remaining flexible
• Be able to negotiate outcomes while maintaining relationships
