The Role
Defence Finance Group (DFG) is seeking experienced and enthusiastic finance professionals to join the Fleet & Maritime finance team at Garden Island in Sydney, NSW and in Rockingham, WA for current and future vacancies. In this role, you will work independently, undertaking a range of financial tasks and activities, including the provision of financial data analysis, identification of financial risks and opportunities, and developing a sound understanding of cost drivers and impacts on capability achievement. Some of the key duties of this role are:

• Provide financial management support, assist with budget preparation and financial performance monitoring and reporting in accordance with Defence objectives.
• Understand and provide advice on Defence and government financial management matters.
• Apply financial management knowledge and undertake objective and systematic analysis to draw accurate conclusions based on evidence.
• Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and stakeholders, and actively participate in team work and group activities.

About our Team
Navy Finance Branch, within the Financial Performance & Management Division (FPM) provides financial advice and analysis to the Chief of Navy, the Commander of the Australian Fleet, their leadership team and to the leadership team of the Maritime Domain within Capability, Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG). The team are mostly co-located with stakeholders, providing financial services in support of the sustainment and operating budgets for:

• Fleet Command; and
• Maritime Systems Division

The team work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across the organisation and are dedicated to the provision of high quality financial services.
