Who we are
The Corporate Systems Branch is primarily responsible for enabling the department to deliver outcomes through the efficient and effective use of contemporary and emerging information systems and communications services and technologies. Branch functions include the delivery of strategic projects, management and administration of the department’s information and data management, ICT contract management and procurement, financial management and reporting for ISD, records management policies, the management of enterprise ICT systems which includes HR, data management, web content management, records management and the enterprise data warehouse. The branch actively engages with business areas and the ICT industry to enable the department’s realisation of its strategic plan outcomes and staff work collaboratively to enable end-to-end services and solutions that are consistent across the organisation and deliver benefits to the department and our clients.

The Financial Management and Reporting team combine technical expertise with in-depth business insights gained from partnering with the ISD line areas to provide complete business solutions. The team work closely with the ISD Finance Business Partner team in the Corporate and Enabling Group to provide the ISD with high quality, timely and meaningful financial information to support them in delivering their business outcomes.

The Jobs
Responsibilities include:

• providing support and assistance to ISD Cost Centre Managers and Project Managers (PM’s) regarding development of their internal budgets
• updating forecasts on a monthly basis to inform management of funding issues by highlighting pressures or savings
• leading the month-end accruals process and provide general advice on a broad range of financial and accounting matters
• providing analysis and advice on the current and planned financial performance and position of the groups produce monthly financial reports
• producing monthly financial reports
• providing monthly input into project management reporting to Senior Responsible Officers and PM’s
• other ad hoc duties as requested.

What we are looking for
Knowledge and experience

• Experience in accounting or finance area.
• Knowledge with SAP and TechOne or similar FMIS and reporting tools.
• A working knowledge and understanding of the Commonwealth financial framework will be highly regarded.
