The Research Program delivers world-class research aligned with the Bureau Strategy and R&D?Plan enabling the Bureau to deliver better weather, water, climate, oceans and earth system predictions information and insights and innovations.

The supporting scientist will undertake scientific research aligned with Observations and Data Science capabilities — integrating satellite, radar and surface observations, assimilation of those observations into numerical environmental weather prediction models, and data science research; and within the Satellite Science team advance the use of the expanding constellation of satellites to improve numerical environmental and weather prediction model performance, and the situational awareness of operational meteorologists, industry partners and the public.

The Satellite Science Team will engage with the space industry to identify technologies that could benefit the Bureau’s services and customers.
