We are Australia’s most trusted source of weather, climate, water, ocean and space weather knowledge. As one of the few organisations that touches the lives of all Australians and all of Australia, we have a responsibility to provide accurate and timely information.

We do this through our national media service. Operating like a newsroom, we are content creators providing at the moment information through the media and social media channels. We are proactive storytellers sharing the human story behind the weather, seeking to tell the stories of our staff, customers and the community. We also respond to the story of the day, keeping the community informed when it matters most.

You will work as part of a small team on a roster system with an alternative team. Your team will alternate between focusing on the reactive news of the day or the long-term proactive storytelling, ensuring each function gets dedicated attention. You will support the team in developing proactive, long-term media projects and managing daily media enquiries. You will help create content and publish to our social media channels and monitor its impact. You will be at the centre of our team, supporting efficient and effective operation of our high-profile media service.

This team operates on a roster system to ensure we can provide coverage in the 24/7 news cycle. You will be required to work outside of standard hours.
