The Bureau of Meteorology are seeking motivated and experienced Financial & Management Accountants to join our team.

APS6 Financial Accountant
Reporting to the Senior Financial accountant, the primary outcome for this role is to produce the annual financial statements and statutory financial reporting for the Bureau. This is achieved through monthly financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, tax management and general financial processing.

APS6 Management Reporting Officer
Reporting to the Strategic Finance Officer, the primary outcome for this role is to aid managerial financial planning and decision-making ensuring sustainability of the Bureau and appropriate use of Commonwealth resources. This is achieved through assistance with creation of external budgets, internal budgets and monthly management reporting.

This role will ensure the business partners act together on behalf of the Bureau, providing a professional and repeatable service that is consistent, accurate and reliable.

EL1 Asset Accountant
Reporting to the Manager Statutory reporting and operations, the primary outcome for this role is to manage the Bureau asset register from a financial perspective, providing advice and reporting for asset management, investment planning. The role will manage identification, recording, valuation, accounting, reporting and timely capitalisation of capital projects, the reconciliation and reporting of capital work in progress and to carryout revaluation and stocktake activities.

The occupant will bring confident communications skills, expertise in Commonwealth government financial frameworks, deep understanding of budgets, forecasts, variance reporting, financial management as well as functional leadership to the finance team.

EL1 Internal Budget Officer
Reporting to the Manager Management Accounting, the primary outcome for this role is to aid managerial financial planning and decision-making ensuring sustainability of the Bureau and appropriate use of Commonwealth resources. This is achieved through the management of a team of business partners that will provide financial reporting and advice to our business areas.

EL1 Strategic Finance Officer/Management Accountant
Reporting to the Manager Management Accounting, the primary outcome for this role is to aid managerial financial planning and decision-making ensuring sustainability of the Bureau and appropriate use of Commonwealth resources. This is achieved through development of external budgets, internal budgets and monthly management reporting.
