We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Electronics, Electrical or Instrumentation technician or engineer, ideally with previous field experience.

The Darwin Operations Hub is the Bureau of Meteorology’s premier technical operations centre.

Staff based at the Darwin Operations Hub travel far and wide utilising 4WD’s, plane’s, boats, and helicopters to maintain service delivery within the various instrumentation networks. This includes:

• Rain Radars
• Automatic Weather Stations (AWS)
• Upper-Air monitoring systems (sounding balloons)
• Sea Level Monitoring Stations
• Wave Buoys
• Satellite ground reception and space weather instruments
• Wave height buoys
• Flood warning / rainfall monitoring systems
• Cooperative observers, volunteer rainfall stations
• Communications, telemetry and instrumentation systems
