What does the role involve?

As the “Head of Human Resources – Corporate”, you will be accountable for partnering with Executive Leadership and their SLT’s across three distinct business units to identify, define and deliver to a people agenda that aligns to, and enables, business outcomes. Overseeing a mixed blue- and white-collar client group of around 2,200 employees, you will be required to bring expertise across the full HR spectrum to ensure fit for purpose solutions while collaboratively partnering with our HR CoE Specialists to deliver outcomes. Furthermore, you will lead a team of 3 highly skilled HR Business Partners, drive continuous improvement initiatives and roll out broader HR projects in line with the HR agenda as needed.

Additionally, you will:

• Drive strategic programs of work regarding organisational design, talent acquisition, retention, capability development, reward & performance and employee relations
• Utilise workforce data and apply analytical skills to formulate people insights and recommendations to inform the People Strategy
• Provide workforce planning and thought leadership on leading edge approaches to creating an engaging and high performing workplace through scanning and understanding the business’ markets, environment, and external people practices
• Provide input to the development of HR policies, processes, and programs to the respective HR teams
• Embed a safety leadership culture within the business unit and work with business leaders and safety team to ensure the associated KPI and metrics are met
• Coach leaders to take accountability for their own people management issues and move towards a stronger self-service approach, in line with the HR operating model
• Build and lead a collaborative, high performing team that optimises existing talent and engages a diverse workforce around a common purpose
• Bring recommendations and insights to the business agenda as a key member of the leadership team, influencing business decisions (not just those in a HR arena), contribute as a senior leader within the organisation to the business agenda as a whole
• Work with the business unit leaders and people managers to drive engagement for employment relations matters
• Act as a key influencer at a senior leadership level to drive the Enterprise agenda and enable the intended operating model

To be successful for this role, you will bring:

• Degree qualified (postgraduate desirable) in HR or a business-related discipline
• Proven ability to influence decision making outside of direct line of control, involving internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to manage through complexity and ambiguity
• Demonstrable experience of leading people-oriented change to drive business transformation
• Extensive functional experience (min. 10 years+) including managing HR teams, within large complex national corporations
• Extensive knowledge of applying innovative people processes to drive change
• Prior experience partnering with executive leaders to drive and implement strategic people initiatives
