An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Manager Financial Accounting to join our Finance Department.

The Finance Department provides services covering FP&A, incorporating budgeting and financial analysis, Financial Accounting, incorporating Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable (patient billing and sundry debtors); Private Practice administration, Cash Management and Investments. The total revenue of the hospital is approximately $1.3 billion per annum. The Finance Department is currently located on the Austin campus of the hospital.

The position, reporting to the Director Financial Accounting is responsible for a finance team overseeing financial compliance and governance, banking and payroll related expenditure. The role will manage interaction with internal and external audit, compliance and governance as per Department of Health and Department of Treasury and Finance requirements, treasury and banking, finance policies, and lead payroll-related expenditure, management and reporting. As the Manager of Financial Accounting, you will support the drive for a strong financial control culture through coaching, partnership and evaluation.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, business, finance, or accounting.
• Membership of CPA or CA
• Demonstrated experience in management of finance teams
• Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and communications skills
• Highly developed time management, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• Sound analytical skills, ability to interpret data and provide recommendations
• Strong attention to detail and proven ability to meet governance and compliance requirements
• Demonstrated ability to provide effective financial and accounting services within a team environment
• The ability to work to strict deadlines and contribute effectively as a team member within a multidisciplinary team environment
