Summary

• This position is responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. Primary duties include: Month End Closing, Fixed Asset Accounting, management of Concur expense reporting, analysis, provide support to accounting department as requested and respond to various financial and accounting requests from Management.
• Perform timely and accurate analysis. Recommend policies, procedures and process improvements in an attempt to achieve “best in class” standards for the department.
• Knowledge of general accounting principles.

Job Functions & Responsibilities

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare monthly and annual financial statements
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
• Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met
• Prepare financial management reports
• Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
• Collect and analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
• Maintain the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules on the FAS Software System; record monthly detail on monthly General Journal entries; insure proper recording of new purchases and disposals
• Maintain Capital Appropriation Requests in G2, track costs, on a monthly basis, verify Construction in Progress contains only costs that should be capitalized.
• Cost Tracking Work Orders (e.g. meetings, safety, etc.) in the G2
• Responsible for the expense reporting through Concur and corresponding recording of that expense in the General Ledger.
• Review annual premium audits (related to payroll) conducted by insurance carriers.

• Perform account reconciliations to ensure complete and timely reconciliation of the account

• Assist with other duties as directed or needed.
