Education Market Development & Strategy Manager

Be part of an exciting opportunity to join a newly created Education-focused vertical with AT&T’s Public Sector team! The Education Market Development & Strategy Manager will focus on understanding K-12 and Higher Education customer needs; carefully monitoring local, state, and federal public policy; providing thought leadership to cross-functional teams at AT&T; and expanding the company’s overall presence in the education market.

To become a trusted advisor to schools, we need an experienced team of specialists with experience in K-12 and Higher Education to drive thought leadership within the segment, support market development goals, foster relationships with education stakeholders, and help customers understand recent stimulus funding and other education state & federal programs.

AT&T Public Sector is hiring an Education Market Development & Strategy Manager.

Role Responsibilities

• Knowledgeable about digital transformation and technology integration in K-12/Higher Education with the ability to facilitate conversations about student success, teaching and learning, IT infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
• Generating long-term industry growth through thought-leadership, understanding of state & federal education programs, and knowledge of AT&T’s education product & connectivity solutions
• Monitoring and developing a pro-active strategy in response to state & federal education programs, legislation, and other market-impacting events.
• Representing AT&T at education conferences, tradeshows and events through presentations and stakeholder engagement at local, regional and national events, e.g. EDUCAUSE, SXSW Edu, CoSN, SETDA, ISTE, etc.
• Collecting education customer insights and transferring that market knowledge to inform the efforts of cross-functional teams within AT&T, including sales, marketing, product, etc.
• Contributing to AT&T’s vision, thought leadership, go-to market strategy, and new offerings to address the unique needs and priorities for the K-12 & Higher Education market.
• Supporting AT&T sales teams as a trusted subject matter expert (SME) to ensure thoughtful, actionable conversations with K-12 schools/Higher Ed customers from institutions of all types and sizes, including public and private K-12; public and private colleges and universities, community colleges; and education associations, etc.

Minimum Qualifications –

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of work experience in education technology, classroom teaching, managing education programs for state or federal education agency, K-12 or post-secondary school administration, and/or business development in the education sector.
• Past participation with associations and organization(s) relevant to K-12/Higher Education and/or Education Technology;
• Knowledge of the E-Rate program, educational technology, digital integration in curriculum;
• Excellent communication skills as evidenced by a record of presentations at conferences and/or published articles;
• Ability to effectively educate internal AT&T stakeholders about the K-12/Higher Education industry with your knowledge of current research and best practices;
• Willingness to travel and work on a remote, distributed team within North America;
• Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude under tight deadlines;
• Ability to facilitate professional learning workshops for K-12/Higher Education professionals, whether Academic, Administrative, Research, and/or IT focused, as well as internal AT&T teams;
• Ability to collaborate on the development of marketing materials, successful use cases, professional learning resources, and educational development materials about AT&T’s K-12/Higher Education product & connectivity solutions; and
• Interpersonal relationship skills (social-emotional intelligence) of confidence, trust, ethics, and accountability as demonstrated by at least three professional references.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Education or related field
• Proven track record displaying thought leadership on education technology and digital integration in the classroom.
• Work experience with a K-12 school and/or Higher Education institution, State/Federal education government agency, and/or association focused on K-12/Higher Education; and
• Knowledge of the E-Rate program and other state/federal education funding programs.
