Site Quality Control Engineer

The Client

Our client is an internationally renowned specialist consultancy and contractor, who have niche sector experience, particularly within the industrial concrete flooring sector, working on projects internationally. Due to continued growth, a fantastic opportunity has become available for a dynamic Site Quality Control Engineer. This role will be based out of the company’s HQ in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire but a large proportion of the work is to be site based and will involve visits to numerous sites, predominantly in the UK but some overseas work expected from time to time.

The Role

Initially the role will predominantly involve visiting site to review on site quality control, ensuring our Clients facilities are being constructed in line with the relevant design, whist ensuring construction best practice. This involves working closely with the Main Contractors and the Specialist Concrete Flooring Sub-contractors, hence good interpersonal skills at all levels are essential for this role. On completion of the on-site inspection, the Engineer will be required to produce a short report using our specially adapted software.

Following further learning and training it is envisaged the right person will develop to eventually attend site meeting as the client’s representative. This client facing role will require a good engineering and construction understanding.  Due to the diverse nature of the Group, during quieter periods (depending on qualifications) the Engineer may be required to aid other departments such as Design or Surveying and Testing teams. 

Essential Skills and Experience

• 5 years post qualification experience
• Site supervision role experience.
• Understanding of construction and construction techniques (preferably concrete structures).
• Good communication skills essential all levels – spoken and written
• Good Level of English – written and spoken.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
• Well organised and able to maintain good administration records.
• Professional, disciplined, and able to work under own initiative.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Report writing skills
• HNC or above in Civil Engineering or related subject.
• Experience of Concrete Flooring

Note – Due to specialist nature, full training will be given to the right candidate.
