ATS Automation Tooling Systems Inc. Hiring for Software Tester at Cambridge, ON Full Time

As an IoT Software Tester at ATS, you will be part of the Illuminate Manufacturing Intelligence (IMI) agile development team involved with software development and deployment. Your focus will be on testing of world-class software that features data collection, analysis, and reporting solutions for sophisticated automation equipment.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO WORK WITH

Functional test suites

Python and Gauge software automation framework

On-premises and cloud-based implementations

WHAT YOU WILL DO?

Test software pertaining to IoT platform-based products and tools. (OEE, MES, Traceability, Vision)

Develop, maintain, and use Gauge based software automation scripts to carry out functional test execution

Test the software product based on IoT technologies and sensors including OPC UA, AMQP, MQTT, Node-RED

Interface with users to elicit and document software testing requirements

Actively participate in scrum with a focus on system testing, use case validation, regression, and deployment feedback

Assist with managing software releases in an agile environment, providing test cases, test results, and automation scripts for the conclusion of each sprint

Develop and run automation test scripts and maintain the QA Automation Framework

Complete sprint tasks for each sprint as part of the development team

Provide mentorship to other testers who may not be experienced in controls and/or IoT

Work as part of a close-knit team in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Effectively communicate defects, variations, results issues and improvements to the design and development team

Contribute to regression test sets, test suite maintenance, QA continuous improvement programs, QA led initiatives, and assignments involving leading-edge software tools and applications

Document requirements, test procedures and test results

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Adhere to all aspects of the department procedures

Perform other duties as assigned

Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required

Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct

Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures

Additional Information

EDUCATION

A post-secondary engineering or computer science degree, diploma or equivalent with emphasis on software testing/development, which may include PLC controls.

EXPERIENCE

2+ years working with PLCs and HMIs or 4+ years working in a manufacturing environment

Must have experience with PLCs, PLC communication, OPC and industrial networks

Solid understanding of QA concepts and hands-on execution in an Agile environment

Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills

Understanding and experience developing and executing automated tests

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

In-depth knowledge of different types of testing and their application

Experience with testing frameworks such as Robot or Gauge preferred

Exposure to a test-driven development environment preferred

Experience in relational database and simple database queries

QUALIFICATIONS

Hands on Controls Industry Experience (Siemens, AB)

Experience testing web applications, APIs, ETLs, Native applications, etc.

Selenium WebDriver and Python scripting skills

Strong data analytics skills
