WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Reads and fills customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed
- Assembles and packs customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department
- Marks materials with identifying information and maintains shipping records
- Prepares parcels for mailing
- Maintains inventory records
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) are preferred.
- Basic computer literacy is preferred.
- Forklift operating experience is preferred. must have demonstrated full competence as a Picker Packer I prior to becoming a Picker Packer II.
- Previous experience elsewhere may be considered toward qualifying as a Picker Packer II or III.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move from 25 to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job for pupose3s of machine operation and product inspection include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are typical of those an employee might encounter while preforming the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
- The shop contains mobile equipment, machinery, and high voltages.
- The shop noise level is variable and may require hearing protection in some areas.
- The shop is heated when required by many areas are not air conditioned. #SPJobs4
