As Production technologist, you will work in a team setting using state-of-the art techniques and equipment to manufacture and package radiopharmaceutical products.

What You Will Do

• Support production of radiopharmaceuticals within a GMP environment
• Operate various pieces of production equipment for the production of radiopharmaceuticals
• Follow batch records for the synthesis, formulation and packaging of products
• Perform routine cleaning of aseptic areas and cleanroom suites, including managing of waste disposal
• Prepare solutions for the manufacturing of radiopharmaceuticals
• Aseptic handling of materials
• Perform routine calibration of equipment
• Follow experimental plans to support the development of radiopharmaceuticals
• Perform decontamination cleaning of radioactive containment (Hot Cells with manipulator arms, Isolators, Biological safety Cabinets)
• Assist in troubleshooting and problem solving

Experience Necessary*

• A post-secondary education in Chemistry, Chemistry Technology, Radiopharmaceutical, Biotechnology or a related field
• Previous experience in a similar role within GMP and pharmaceutical grade clean rooms, medical isotopes, is a definite asset
• The ability to lift 23 kilograms (50 pounds)
• A willingness to work evening, night or various shifts on a rotational or fixed basis
• A willingness to work weekends

Radiopharmaceuticals are perishable products that require just-in-time manufacturing to ensure supply demands are met without interruption. This means that flexibility to various shifts is required of this role whether that be evening, night or early morning shifts throughout the week/ weekends.
