Case Manager/Intervention Specialist

Atmosphere’s Case Manager/Intervention Specialist helps to implement Atmosphere’s academic program , RTI, support students in Success Lab, as well as our Restorative Justice program to ensure that all students’ social and emotional development is well supported. The Case Manager/Intervention Specialist s directly to the grade level leader, Student Learning Manager, Special Education Director, CLO and CEO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
• Masters degree from an accredited college or university preferred
• Special Education Certification/Credential required
• Experience in HS Intervention
• Familiarity with RTI
• Familiarity with Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
• Relevant experience in a charter school or other school setting
• Social work experience in schools preferred
• Track record of supporting student achievement
• Expertise in working with diverse populations of students and families
• Ability to empower students to develop socially and emotionally
• Evidence of receptiveness to constructive feedback and commitment to professional growth and improvement
• Strong classroom management experience and skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and track record of collaborating with diverse stakeholders
• Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Relentless determination to do whatever it takes to help Atmosphere students succeed

Responsibilities

Case Manager/Intervention Specialist Duties

Academic Responsibilites

• Assessing children’s individual needs.
• Works with a team to help identify the best practices for individual students and groups of students.
• Works collaboratively with teachers.
• Prepares s for parents, teachers regularly.
• Attends the appropriate training to improve knowledge and skills.
• Participates in evaluations of the intervention plan.
• Manages and orders materials that are necessary for performing job functions.
• Ensuring students are supervised in classrooms and other settings at all times.
• Ensuring scholars are safe.
• Employing suitable classroom management techniques.
• Creating rigorous, standard aligned Lesson Plans weekly
• Keeping accurate records of children’s performance.
• Complying with Individualized Education Programs (IEP).

Collaboration

• Meets regularly with the Student Learning Manager, Counselors, and CLO to analyze school-wide and individual student behavior data and evaluate the home environment to ensure that it is safe and conducive to learning
• Manages mandated ing of suspected abuse and neglect and serves as liaison between staff, child welfare organizations, families and the school
• Develops relationships with families in order to provide support to scholars.

Intervention

• Identifies and assess a child’s unique needs
• Collects pre/post-intervention data on all students
• Identifies skills gaps and create materials in order to support student growth
• Develops supplementary educational materials that serves as a companion to the general curriculum.
• Maintains and analyzes each student’s academic and behavioral records to inform support
• Performs consultations with relevant parties to address student’s educational, behavioral, and social needs
• Work with students before/afterschool in order to support academic needs
• Advises colleagues on strategies to support the needs students with disabilites
• Communicate with parents about student progress and provide recommendations for home-based methods and materials

Engagement

• Communicates with families of students receiving counseling services or other intervention services
• Collaborates with the Student Learning Manager, Director of Special Education and CLO in designing and coordinating family-engagement and family-education activities including monthly meetings

Other Duties

• Assists teachers in understanding their students, including providing and interpreting student data
• Complete IEP s (if needed)
• Screens telephone calls for the purpose of directing to appropriate personnel and/or taking messages
• Participate in some events outside of normal school hours
• Any and all other responsibilities as delegated and assigned by the Board of Trustees, Student Learning Manager, Director of Special Education and the CLO.

Pay: $60,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
