Full Job Description

The Quality Inspector independently performs inspections on parts, materials, customer returns and supplies received from vendors. They support the production environment by performing in-process production inspections, first article inspections, receiving inspections, and final inspections to ensure conformance to requirements.

Here’s what you’ll need to be considered for this exciting opportunity:

Minimum three (3) years in quality inspection of machined parts manufactured to high tolerances. Performing dimensional inspections through the use of a CMM in conjunction with standard measuring and test equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform inspection activities to assess the conformance of products to the design as defined by the engineering drawings and purchase order.
• Utilize and modify programs for stationary coordinates measuring equipment and related software.
• Develop, monitor, and manage the preparation of inspection plans and checklists for inspections with pictorial and written work instructions for inspection procedures.
• Knowledge of mechanical inspection and proficiency in the use of manual & visual inspection equipment: i.e. CMM, Calipers, gauges, micrometers, digital indicators, surface plates, optical comparators, microscopes, pin gauges, go/no-go gauges, profilometers, hardness/durometer testers, to verify mechanical part conformity.
• Identify non-conforming conditions that present existing or impending defective conditions at the system or subsystem level.
• Provide guidance and training for product inspection and equipment used as needed for production.
• Aid with data collection and root cause analysis investigations.
• Add organizational value by implementing innovative solutions and best practices involved in all areas of the inspection process.
• Other duties as assigned to support daily operations and QC.

Preferred Qualifications:

• H.S. graduate with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in manufacturing inspection.
• Proficient in using MS Office programs (i.e., MS Word and Excel).
• Create and modify programs for stationary coordinates measuring equipment and related software.
• Ability to interpret product specifications, drawings/blueprints with firm understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Able to use calibrated inspection equipment to validate dimensions or features
• Demonstrated ability to multitask, follow up, and work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to set priorities and work independently within established guidelines.
• Prioritize while being able to adapt to changing priorities.
