ATE (UK) Ltd Looking for Sales Manager at Colchester, Essex Full Time

The Company

ATE was established in 1995 and is now one of the most active, progressive independent distributors of spare and parts for towed equipment. Additionally, we have become one of the leading manufacturers of trailers up to 3.5t through 25 years of industry experience.  Our range of products covers plant hire, machinery dealing and repairing and civil engineering. Our customers consist of public utilities, event hire, government and councils.

Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Manager to join our team.

The Role

This position reports to the Sales Director and the successful candidate will be primarily managing a team in a fast paced environment, bringing sales hustle and rigour into the team with high levels of activity and accountability, creating a sales plan to drive the business forward, training and upskilling the team and a belief that ‘volume fixes everything’.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing a team of Regional Account Managers, Internal Sales Team and BD team
• Responsible for developing the market share and profitability by proactively managing existing client relationships and delivering revenue and margin growth
• Motivating a team making inbound and proactive outbound calls – treating every enquiry as a hot sales enquiry, and driving follow up, follow up, follow up
• Leading daily sales team huddle and weekly 121’s
• Answering sales queries from the team, making decisions where needed
• Reviewing and driving accountability for metrics and KPIs – growing our market share through considered intelligent analysis
• Focusing on structure, accountability and stability to the sales department to deliver increased revenue and individual customer spend
• Increasing our database, understanding our customer spend potential and bringing on board a long tail of small customers as much as the ‘big whale’ customers

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4.30pm, at our office in Colchester (CO2 8HT).

• Have previously held a similar sales role and successfully met and exceeded targets you have been set
• Are computer literate and can use Microsoft Word, Excel and CRM software packages
• Are accurate in both written and verbal communication internally and externally
• Ideally have worked in a similar role in a B2B business or industry
• Are driven by facts and data and able to report accurately and be held to account

• Have been a fast paced, high growth environment previously where volume is key
• Worked in a business supplying a large number of products to a large customer base
• Have worked in a B2B industry
• Have experience building a team

• Salary circa £60,000 – £70,000 basic per annum, dependent on skills and experience, with £70,000-£80,000 OTE
