ATA Services, Inc., is looking for a Deputy Chief Financial Officer – Agency of Education.
The Agency of Education is recruiting for their next Deputy CFO. Reporting to the CFO, the incumbent will serve as “second in command” and will be seen as a subject matter expert and a statewide leader on financial matters. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the internal control system review and development, all aspects of the day-to-day financial accounting, monitoring, reconciliations, reporting and technical assistance across the Agency. Additionally, you and your team of 11 will also account for all state and federal grant dollars, prepare, submit, and monitor the Agency’s annual budget of approximately $2B across 12 Appropriations and process all Agency contracting services consisting of several hundred unique grants and contracts annually to name just a few.

Environmental Factors
Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting but some travel will require private means of transportation. Duties may require extensive time outside of normal work hours. Incumbent will be expected to assist the CFO and department/agency heads in testifying before the Legislature.
Minimum Qualifications
Five (5) years or more of experience in a financial leadership role, managing a major fiscal program or operation where functional responsibilities included highly complex accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing and/or fiscal analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or other financial-related degree program.
CPA License or CPA Candidate standing, or a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or professional certification in financial management field.
