Mechanical Design Engineer – Northwest

3-month contract / Outside IR35

Rate £35.00p/h DOE

CAD – Autodesk Inventor / Solidworks / design / mechanical assemblies / GA’s

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a key client based in the Northwest of England, who are a global leading Engineering equipment manufacturer. They operate in the design, manufacture and installation of capital equipment, and materials handling into industrial and heavy process industries. Due to new project wins, they are looking for experienced Mechanical Design Engineers to join their team on an interim basis. Initially this contract/project is for 3 months.

For this position, you will require to conduct the following daily duties:

v  2D AutoCAD & 3D design on Autodesk Inventor and/or Solidworks

v  Design and model fabrications, weldments, and mechanical assemblies, in a modern engineering environment

v  Ensuring design project specifications are met

v  Communicate effectively with key stakeholders on the project

v  Highlight design issues or snagging issues immediately to Project Manager

The successful person will need to have the following attributes:

v  Knowledge of fabrications, complex assemblies, and complex general arrangements etc

v  Strong mechanical and material handling engineering background – able to come up with ideas and engineering solutions to problems

v  2D/3DCAD – Autodesk Inventor & Solidworks highly desirable

v  Excellent communications skills with both colleagues and clients

v  A team player, professional and keen eye for detail
