If you are an experienced Logistics Manager, Head of Logistics or Logistics Director with a history of managing medium to large teams within an automotive environment, then I have a brilliant opportunity for you which has the possibility of progressing into a Managing Directors position.

This role will provide the ideal Logistics Manager with a varied and challenging opportunity with a healthy mix of high-level strategic input, as well as maintaining a direct approach with your senior management team.

This manufacturing organisation faces some major logistic challenges where we require a result-orientated and dynamic Logistics Manager, with the strength of character to lead a highly skilled team lacking top-level vision and drive.

The Logistics Manager role will be as follows:

• Management and accountability for all logistics activities whilst managing a team of 12 direct reports and 6 indirect employees
• Budget accountability – £5m P&L related to labour, incoming transport, outgoing transport, internal plant transport, headcount management and efficiency of material flow
• Responsible for the recruitment, 121s, appraisals, performance reviews, performance management and leadership of your team
• Develop and upskill the team, talent pipelining and succession planning within your team
• Reduce working capital and inventory
• Install production planning/operation planning process and enforcing the use and administration of the SAP EPR system
• Strategically responsible to deliver the vision and key projects. Manage the volatility in demands and ensure efficiency
• Manage the logistic departments against the following KPIs; Inventory, Working Capital, P&L, On-Time Delivery To Customer (OTD), build to plan 100% and no special freights
• Create an effective production plan to create efficiencies in production

The ideal Logistics Manager will have a combination of the following:

• An experienced Logistics Manager, Head of Logistics, or Logistics Director from the automotive sector
• Degree qualified either a logistics, supply chain, or business degree/MBA
• An expert in SAP systems with strong leadership and management experience
• Hands-on, tactical, proactive and results orientated
• A track record in implementing and executing lean and continuous improvement projects
• Commutable Coventry
