Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer

3-Month Contract

Location: York / Selby / Hull

Rate: £30.00p/h (Limited – Outside IR35)

Shifts: Days, Mon – Fri 40hrs p/w (covering 1 weekend in 3)

Food / Packaging / FMCG / Process Manufacturing

Our client is a nationwide supplier of dairy produce to the major supermarket sectors. The company are looking for an experienced Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias, for a 3-month contract. For the right candidate, this could also be a contract-to-permanent opportunity. Working part of a small nit maintenance team, our client is part of a larger food manufacturing Group, who offer a modern, state of the art working environment.

The role of the Maintenance Engineer will involve the following:

• Reactive breakdowns & PPM work electrically
• Fault find and repair on process control with PLC, inverter, servo, instrumentation, and data logging skills, applicable to modern high-speed packaging equipment
• Maintenance engineering of Steam boilers and system, packaging machinery and process plant equipment
• Dealing with temp controls, temp data loggers and instrumentation like pressure transmitters, flow controls etc
• PLCs – mostly Siemens, also Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi
• Trouble shoot, find a solution, choose kit, set it up/install, set parameters and make improvements

As Maintenance Engineer you will need the following skills and attributes:

• Electrical engineering Time served apprentice trained or NVQ L3 required
• 17th/18th Edition highly desirable
• Food hygiene cert. preferable
• Pro-active, driven, ability to work independently
• Attention to detail, suggest improvements
• Food/FMCG production industry experience (ideally dairy / food / packaging etc)
