ATA Recruitment are working with a leading global specialist who design, manufacture and install bespoke equipment for the electrical engineering sector.  The business has operations in the UK, USA, The Middle East, Europe and Asia and are widely recognised as the market leader in their field.

The business has an annual turnover of 40 million per year and are currently going through a period of heavy investment with a view to growing to be a 100 million business in the future.  The business is focussing on new product development to fuel this growth to develop products incorporating newer technology alongside their tried and tested product range.

This is a very exciting time to join the business and they are currently looking for an Electrical Design Manager to join the team with immediate effect.  The business are looking for someone who has some technical or operational leadership with experience with some grounding in electrical engineering.  Please apply online for a speedy consideration.

The Role

As the Electrical Design Manager, you will have the opportunity to implement the businesses best practices and metrics together with your individual vision and new ideas to help drive the design department forward.

The Electrical Design Manager key responsibilities will be:

• Identifying and implement performance measures for the design department
• Bringing the team together so they have a common vision and purpose
• Reporting on engineering design team performance at senior management meetings
• Recruiting and retaining electrical design engineers joining the team
• To be responsible for all aspects of electrical design from contract award to handover
• To reviewing drawings produced by the team
• Steering the department through a change from 2D to 3D design
• Preparing the annual budget for engineering capital expenditure
• To Supporting customer enquiries on product failures and technical issues

The Candidate:

To be successful in your application for this Electrical Design Manager vacancy you will need:

• An electrical engineering qualification
• A desire and passion for leadership and management.
• Excellent Management and leadership qualities
• Excellent Organisation skills
• A proven track record in successfully managing and developing a department or a team
• The ability to bring new and fresh ideas
