ATA are working exclusively with one of the UKs leading OEM groups at their world class manufacturing facility in Derby. They are on the search for an apprentice Assessor to join their small team of 3 who have on average 20 years’ experience working for the business. This role sits within the sites prestigious training academy which plays host to over 90 apprentices at any given time completing their level 3 maintenance apprenticeship. The academy provides apprenticeship opportunities to the future leaders within engineering, not only for the group itself, but also to their supply chain and other well-known blue-chip organisations. This is an extremely rare opportunity to join a team who are recruiting externally for the first time in its history. This role would suit a maintenance engineer that would like to take a step away from the tools.
About the role
The role of an apprenticeship assessor will consist of working within the groups training academy to deliver feedback to engineers throughout different points of their four-year apprenticeship, in the aim to help them achieve their maintenance qualifications.
Responsibilities include:
– Assessing level 3 maintenance apprentices on site & on Partner Company sites.
– Judging evidence, reviewing performance, and determining competency.
– Providing both verbal and written feedback.
– Assessing practice sessions with thorough feedback.
– Marking assessments.
– Report writing & record keeping.
– Liaising with senior management teams to deliver performance reviews.
– Using computer programmes such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
About you
As an apprenticeship assessor, you should have previously worked as a multiskilled maintenance engineer. You should have sound knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems and it would also be beneficial for you to have experience with PLC & fluid power systems.
– A minimum requirement of a level 3 engineering qualification (Essential)
– TAQA (1a) Qualification would be beneficial but not essential as the company will pay for this.
– A minimum of working for 5 years as a multiskilled maintenance engineer outside of an apprenticeship.
– Passion and enthusiasm for sharing knowledge.
– Strong organisation skills with the ability to plan your own day-to-day activities.
– The ability to fit in within a small close-knit team.
– You must have strong communication and a professional demeanour
– Flexibility on working hours
– Due to the size of the site, you should be physically fit with the ability to be on your feet for large parts of the day.
– Due to the need to drive to other locations you must have a valid UK drivers licence.
